Common Problems in Fiberglass Jacking Pipe Manufacturing

Fiberglass jacking pipes are made of glass fiber and its products as reinforcement, a matrix material such as high-molecular-weight unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin, and inorganic non-metallic particulate fillers such as quartz sand and calcium carbonate. This material enhances rigidity while maintaining sufficient operational strength, ensuring product stability and reliability. Fiberglass jacking pipes are widely accepted by users for their excellent chemical resistance, lightweight, high strength, anti-scaling, and strong seismic resistance. Compared to ordinary steel pipes, they offer advantages such as a long service life, low overall cost, quick installation, and safety and reliability. Common Problems in Using FRP Pipe Jacking Systems:

1. When curing FRP pipes, the main cause of blistering after solidification is excessive evaporation of the adhesive, low rolling temperature, and rapid rolling speed, which prevents the adhesive from evaporating quickly, resulting in residual water inside the pipe.

FRP pipe jacking is a lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant metal pipe. It consists of a heavy glass fiber with a resin matrix. The resin is wound layer by layer around a rotating mandrel according to process requirements, with quartz sand evenly spaced between the fibers as a sand interlayer. As the pipe heats and solidifies, the residual water evaporates and expands, increasing the evaporation of residual water inside the pipe. Solution: Control the evaporation rate, appropriately increase the rolling temperature, or reduce the rolling temperature. High rubber content can cause wrinkling after solidification. Solution: Appropriately reduce the rubber content of the rubber cloth and lower the rolling temperature.

2. Blistering on the inner wall of FRP pipes is primarily caused by the ball finder's cloth not being close to the core. Solution: During operation, ensure that the ball finder's cloth is firmly attached to the core.
